i have 2 small kids (2 and 4 yrs old) and this is the ONLY place i can take them to see their types of movies at. the seating is awesome, with high-back leather office type chairs that swivel and lean back for comfort. some rows have small individual tables in front of each seat, and some have a long bar type table in front of the seating (i prefer to sit here) it has small little lights to iluminate your bar area, but not too bright to disturb the movie viewing. my favorite features are the bottomless popcorn! thats right! buy 1 large popcorn and they refill it over and over for free!! same with their large fountain drinks!! you pay about the same as in any other theater but its free refills! food is slightly higher, but so many options to choose from. if you have kids, it's the only place to go! and if the kids arent silent all the time, its expected, and you wont get yelled at!
I must say I have never tried to go to the movie theater on a Friday or Saturday night. My family did attempt to see a "Tom Cruise" movie once and my baby daughter started to cry; we got lots of stares and had to leave.
Now my girls are 9 & 6 and we see movies on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and all holidays..
The staff has told us we could not bring in outside food in but did stop us tfroming going in with it. I think this is better than the movie tavern because the food court is right outside the entrance and there is a large selection of food choices.
Also, I save my old popcorn bags. I do buy a new one everytime we go. I fill up the old bag and go back for a 2nd. The whole family enjoys popcorn without fighting over it.
The arms of the seats let up so my husband and I can snuggle. I love AMC Deerbrook
The main reason my husband and I go to this theater is because they are one of the very few that still offer soft pretzels as a snack option. I have a sensitive stomach and popcorn just won't work a lot of the time. As far as the theater conditions... it's as clean as the average theater, and equipped just as well, but the teenage/gang element is HORRENDOUS! Now this has nothing to do with white, black, Asian or Indian in particular; there are plenty of teenagers represented by all different cultures, and this applies to ALL of them. My husband works nights so I find myself going there alone quite a bit, and I literally fear for my life a lot of the time. One night when my husband and I did attempt to go to a movie together, it was the weekend when "Notorious" came out and the theater was closed down because there had been a shooting there earlier in the evening (I think about 8PM or so). Now that really puts things into perspective, doesn't it ladies and gentlemen? If you go to this theater, DEFINITELY keep your eyes and ears open, and be aware of your surroundings at ALL times!
This theater is dominated by gangs and rude teenagers. It is seldom possible to enjoy a movie without listening to people having conversations or making rude comments. We often travel to another cinema just to avoid the people common to this theater.
Hated it! Really! I saw Friday the 13th and there was food and popcorn EVERYwhere! The temperature was fine but it felt like I was sitting in a pig-stine! Also, the volume was sooo LOUD, I had to stuff tissue paper inside my ears to make sure I'd leave with hearing!! I wouldn't suggest this theatre to anyone!!
I like this theatre because of it's great location! You can buy your tickets, and then walk around the mall until it starts, and there is even a candy store in the mall that gives you a discount if you show them your ticket! The seating and ac is always perfect; no freezing or sweating going on, you just sit and enjoy the movie!
I would not go to this theater on Fridays of Saturday nights because of the "mob rule" of the gang bangers and thug teenagers. I saw The Dark Knight" a couple weeks after it opened and the police had to come into the theater three times to kick kids out for not having tickets, yelling, flashing gang signs and intimidating other movie watchers. I will say the manager was very nice and handled the situation the best he could. i will only go there on weekdays during the day of morning shows when the mob is still sleeping.
Large stadium seating with 24 theatres. Food court right outside of entrance in mall.(The theatre actually allows outside food in.) Also there are movie tic machines by entrance so you don't have to stand in line. Usually temp inside is nice all year around. Previous reviewer should have let the mgr know about the warm experience, not usually the case unless theatre is at max capacity. Parking is difficult to find close to entrance most times (allow extra time), however it's easier to park by JC Penny's by the covered parking and walk to mall entrance-approx 100 ft. Mall closes at 9pm and security is present heavily then.
Saw IRONMAN on 5-2-2008 it was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. The Theater # 7 was terrible, the most miserable 2 hours of my life. It was a sauna, not a theater, it must have been 90 degrees in there. My wife is cold natured, and she was also complaining that she was miserable. I had to leave, go to the rest room to splash water on my face. Not the whole theater was like this, the looby was at normal temp. I may start going back to the theater across from the mall.
